How do some hosts offer unlimited bandwidth or disk space?They offer it, but they cannot possibly supply it. Unlimited bandwidth (and/or disk space) is a marketing gimmick to make it seem as if there are “no limits” with that provider. Of course, nothing can exist in infinite supply, so where’s the catch?Unfortunately, as many people have learned, there are limits, but they are often hidden in small print, or are up to the random discretion of a sysadmin! If you use too many resources, or what the ISP deems “reasonable,” your site could be removed from their servers without warning!As such, we recommend avoiding hosts that offer “unlimited” features unless you can really scrape the surface and find out what the limits are.
